“Radius take on the onus of the claim for us, making sure that there’s nothing we’ve missed whilst maximising the claim. Preparing our claims with Radius has given us peace of mind that we are claiming all relief entitled to us, in line with HMRC’s rules. Being a software business, their specialist knowledge and expertise surrounding R&D software guidelines has been of great value.”

– Stephen Biggs, Chief Technology Officer, Gala Technology Limited

Gala are Fintech specialists, providing integrated card payment processing solutions for merchants of all shapes and sizes across numerous sectors. Here’s how Radius helped them save over £62k in corporation tax.

How the Radius team helped

The specialist at Radius worked alongside key individuals within the company to identify the qualifying R&D activities and costs, carefully analysing all development activities undertaken to establish those eligible for relief.  The Radius team prepared a comprehensive supplementary report for HMRC, evidencing details of the figures included, and worked alongside the company’s existing accountant to submit the claim.

What innovation took place

The R&D activity of Gala Technology involves the ongoing development to their SOTpay payment platform, a cloud-based ‘card not present’ solution which enables merchants and organisations to take secure, authenticated and compliant payments across numerous channels. Qualifying activity has included development of unique APIs, ensuring compatibility across multiple regions and devices, and ensuring complete adherence to strict security standards.
