As Senior People Manager, I’m responsible for driving and supporting our people strategy, ensuring it reflects our values and designed to help everyone across the Firm to succeed and thrive. I partner closely with leaders and teams to create a positive, inclusive environment where individuals feel valued and empowered to do their best work. I’ve worked across a range of industries and teams, and one thing remains constant: when you put people first, great results follow. Whether it’s navigating change, supporting development, or helping shape a strong workplace culture, I’m passionate about making work a great place to be.

I feel immensely proud and fortunate to be part of Shorts — a Firm that genuinely puts its people first. We have a culture shaped by trust and encouragement led from the top, with our Partners setting the tone through their leadership and commitment. I’ve been with the Firm for two years and during that time as a Firm we have introduced some great people initiatives. In addition, we have recruited two new key roles to support our people strategy with Laura Collins our Talent Acquisition Manger and Lana Reid our Learning and Development Manager. I am truly excited for the things to come …. watch this space!

When I’m away from work, you’ll usually find me out on the moors walking Tilly, our energetic (and slightly crazy!) sprocker spaniel. She keeps us on our toes and is the perfect excuse to get outdoors and unwind. I never take for granted how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the UK — right on the doorstep of the Peak District, with endless hills, moors, trails, and fresh air to enjoy. I find it a great way to reset, get some headspace, and come back recharged. Whether it’s a long hike, a quick loop through the woods, or simply watching Tilly tear around with endless enthusiasm, being out in nature is something I truly value.
