I spent my first years within accountancy working for smaller firms in the Chesterfield and Sheffield region, becoming ACCA qualified in 2014. During my time at these firms, I gained experience in accountancy and audit as well as other departments such as payroll, VAT and personal & corporate tax.

I joined Shorts as an account and audit senior and was later promoted to manager.  Throughout my training, my focus has always been on my clients and this was one of the reasons I wanted to work for Shorts – they are known for excellent client service.

At Shorts, I specialise in the preparation of accounts and the provision of audit services for businesses and I work very closely with a lot of our charity clients. Proficient in many types of accounting software, I continue to assist my clients to maximise their use of the software available to them and also look for opportunities to streamline their processes.

I try to keep in regular contact with my clients to ensure that they are aware of any changes to statutory requirements, filing deadlines, etc. as I understand that our clients are busy in the day to day running of their business.
