Relevant and specific business advice.Howard Freeman

We get to know our clients and their accounts in detail by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with them throughout the year, taking a real interest in business developments and their future strategy.  This approach allows us to provide both relevant and specific business advice on a timely basis.

Each client is allocated a specific partner who is their key point of contact.  At Shorts, our accounts partners are also experienced in providing tax advice so are well placed to advise businesses on all matters of relevance to them.

One of the strengths of Shorts is that where more complex issues arise, we have a variety and depth of specialisms within the firm which ensure our clients receive the very best advice.  However, at all times the allocated partner will remain the key point of contact, ensuring continuity of service throughout.

Our partner group is highly qualified and has significant experience at senior levels within a number of large national/international firms.  This combination is unrivalled locally, enabling us to offer the quality of professional advice and service you would expect from the leading firm of accountants within the area.

Finance Bill 2017: The saga draws to an end

The long-running saga of the final spring Budget and subsequent Finance Bills is one step closer to the end. The Chancellor’s spring Budget was thrown into disarray by the snap election. It was billed as the last spring Budget, since from now on all Budgets will be autumn events. However, only about a fifth of the Budget’s proposals made it onto the statute book before Parliament shut up shop ahead of the election. The question of what would happen to the four fifths lost in action has been up in the air ever since.
